helmut Swiss: laboratory

twice I was in wolfsburg already in this exhibition in the municipal gallery. while in an art museum in giacometti (.! be seen until 6.03), the people crowded, I was able to calmly and thoroughly the "laboratory from 1969 to 2010" See - a retrospective of conceptual artist Helmut Swiss (born 1946 in Stuttgart ).
I show you some photos of a part of the exhibition, which I found particularly fascinating. in a space that is bathed in black light, are remarkable uprights equipment, various bottles of stele and from which it drips, bright spots on the floor, old glass jars behind, small sources of light in the windows painted black. enchantingly beautiful in a black light to see bright yellow and green, blue, turquoise - but certainly not this beauty one is surprised and irritated it a slight shudder..

every day at 13.50 to the clock maker vitrine filled in the bubbles almost noiselessly on a machine with bubbles. in this spooky atmosphere! The background: on 28.03.1979 it was at 13.50 in the nuclear reactor in Harrisburg / usa have a catastrophic nuclear accident with a partial meltdown.

the exhibition "laboratory" deals in all parts of the human impact on nature and the responsibility of science to their discoveries. heard so swiss especially the nuclear power to all its effects.
for the exhibition you could write novels - that goes beyond this framework. who wants to know more look here or better yet, looks at the exhibition! it is still up to 6 see february. giacometti and you can even watch yet!
